Louis was taken to England by his mother Eadgifu after his  father, Charles the Simple, was imprisoned in 923. In 936 he was summoned  back to France and crowned.  9. Gisela, Duchess of Swabia: born 11 Nov 999, Schwaben, Bavaria. Married Conrad II 'the Salic' of Germany, born 989/990, died 1039.

 10. Liudolf von Brunswick, Count in the Derlingau: born after 1009, died 23 Apr 1038. Married Gertrude von Egesheim, born 1011.

 11. Agatha von Brunswick: born 1030. Married Edward Atheling (son of Edmund Ironside, King of England -1017).

Readers must note the fact that it is by no means certain that Agatha was a daughter of Liudolf von Brunswick. Alison Weir for instance writes in her "Britain's Royal Families" that Agatha probably was a daughter of Bruno, bishop of Augsburg, brother of Henry III, emperor of Germany. With less probability she was the daughter of Stephen, king of Hungary, by Gisela, daughter of Conrad II, emperor of Germany and sister of the emperor Henry III. She is described as 'a kinswoman'of emperor Henry III.

 15. Maud Marjorie Canmore, sister of King William the Lion of Scotland. Married Gilchrist, created first Earl of Angus by William the Lion.

 17. Sir Gilbert de Umfreville, Baron Prudhou and afterwards Earl of Angus; died 1307. Married: Elizabeth Agnes Comyn; born 1248, died 1328.

 18. Robert Umfreville, Earl of Angus; died 1325; Regent of Scotland,  victorious at the Battle of Argyle, defeated Robert Bruce at Johnstone, married (2): Eleanora; died 31 Mar 42 Edward III.

 19. Sir Thomas de Umfreville of Harbottle and Otterburn; died 10 Richard III. May have been killed at the Battle of Otterburn Married Johanna de Rodham.

 20. Sir Robert de Umfreville, KG, Vice-Admiral of England; died 1436; was made Lord Umfreville and attended King Henry V at Agincourt. Married Isabella, widow of W Heron.

 21. William de Umfreville of Missenden; changed the family arms for no apparent reason; married unknown.

 22. Andrew Umfreville; resumed the former family arms of gules cinquefoil between six crosses patence; married unknown.

 24. William Umfreville of Isleworth; purchased Lordship of the Manors of  Farnham Royal, Bucks and Isleworth, Middlesex. Married Mary, daughter of  Lane of Acton, gentleman usher to King Henry VIII of England.
